Clinical calculators handle identifiable information. We built ChronoCalc with a simple principle: your data stays on your device. This privacy policy explains exactly what that means — and what we deliberately do not do.

How Calculation Works (Local-Only)

When you enter a date of birth, testing date, or gestational age into any ChronoCalc tool, the math runs entirely in your web browser using JavaScript. The calculation engine executes on your computer or tablet — not on a ChronoCalc server.

This means:

• No date of birth is transmitted over the internet to us
• No calculation result is stored on our servers
• No patient or client identifiers are collected
• Closing the browser tab clears the session — we retain nothing

You can verify this yourself: open ChronoCalc with your browser's developer tools (Network tab) active, enter dates, and click Calculate. You will see no outbound requests containing the dates you entered.

Information We Do Not Collect

ChronoCalc is designed to collect as little data as possible. We do not collect, store, or process:

• Dates of birth or testing dates entered into calculators
• Gestational ages or prematurity data
• Calculated age results
• Names, patient IDs, or any personal identifiers
• IP addresses tied to calculator usage
• Location data from your device
• Browser fingerprints for individual tracking

No Analytics Pixels or Tracking Scripts

Many websites embed third-party analytics (Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, Hotjar, etc.) that track page views, clicks, and sometimes form inputs. ChronoCalc does not use any of these.

We do not embed:

• Google Analytics or Google Tag Manager
• Facebook/Meta Pixel or conversion tracking
• Session recording tools (Hotjar, FullStory, etc.)
• Advertising networks or retargeting pixels
• Third-party A/B testing frameworks

Our pages load calculator JavaScript and static assets. That is the full client-side footprint for calculation tools.

Cookies

ChronoCalc uses essential cookies only — the minimum needed for basic site functionality such as remembering accessibility preferences or cookie consent status. We do not use:

• Advertising or retargeting cookies
• Cross-site tracking cookies
• Social media sharing cookies
• Analytics cookies that identify individual users

Third-Party Services

ChronoCalc does not share calculator input or results with third parties. Our static site is hosted on infrastructure that may log standard server access data (IP address, user agent, requested URL) for security and uptime monitoring. These server logs do not contain dates of birth or calculation inputs because those values never reach the server.

We do not sell, rent, or trade user data. We have no data to sell — by design.

Clinical and HIPAA Context

ChronoCalc is a general-purpose age calculation tool, not a covered entity under HIPAA. However, we recognize that clinicians use our tools in HIPAA-regulated workflows. Local-only processing means:

• Entering a client's date of birth does not create a record on our systems
• No Business Associate Agreement (BAA) is required for calculator use because no PHI is transmitted to us
• Your organization's existing device and browser security policies govern local data handling

We recommend following your institution's policies for entering client information into any web-based tool, even one that processes data locally.

Contact Form

If you use our contact page, the information you voluntarily submit (name, email, message) is used solely to respond to your inquiry. Contact form data is not used for marketing and is not shared with third parties.

Children's Privacy

ChronoCalc calculators are tools used by adults (clinicians, educators, parents) to compute age for children and adolescents. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Calculator inputs are processed locally and never submitted to our servers.

Changes to This Policy

If we update this privacy policy, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes that affect how data is handled will be noted prominently. Our core commitment — local-only calculation with no server-side date storage — will not change without clear notice.
